From Doing Justice to Doing Kindness

Judges from the Magistrate's Court volunteered to pack and distribute food to needy families in honor of the Rosh Hashanah holida

“Dozens of judges from the Magistrate’s Court took part in an inspiring initiative, volunteering to pack and distribute food to needy families in honor of the Rosh Hashanah holiday.

The activity took place under the framework of ‘Yad B’Yad,’ a long-standing charity organization led by Rabbi Yaakov Gluieberman in Lod, known for its extensive support to various populations across the country.

As part of the volunteer effort, the judges participated in packing food boxes, which included basic staples as well as holiday items such as fruits, vegetables, meat, bread, and other essential foods for the holiday table.

They also helped distribute the boxes to needy families in the Lod area, aiming to bring joy and assistance to those in distress ahead of the new year.

The participation of the Magistrate’s Court judges in this initiative underscores the importance of mutual responsibility in Israeli society, and the desire to contribute and help beyond their professional roles, which are typically focused on legal cases and ensuring justice.

Volunteering with ‘Yad B’Yad’ provides them with an opportunity to engage in hands-on social action and directly assist those in immediate need.

Rabbi Yaakov Globerman, founder and director of the organization, expressed his deep appreciation for the judges who joined this important effort, noting that collaboration between prominent public figures and social organizations is essential for ensuring broad and meaningful assistance.

‘The judges’ actions today demonstrate that leadership does not stop at the boundaries of the judicial system.

When people are committed to justice and social support, they find ways to help even outside the courtroom,’ said Rabbi
Globerman.

Thanks to this volunteer effort, many families will be able to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with dignity, with a set table and an abundance of food, something that would not have been possible without the efforts and dedication of the judges and other volunteers in the organization.”
