A journey of compassion, unity, and giving
We were honored to welcome a volunteer family from Sydney, Australia, who came to Israel with open hearts and a deep desire to strengthen Israeli society.
Together with their children, the family volunteered in projects of the Yad B’Yad charity organization, turning compassion into meaningful action.
Giving in the Spirit of Omri
The family took part in “Giving in the Spirit of Omri”, a project established in memory of the late soldier Omri Ben Shahar, who fell during the “Iron Swords” war.
Every Thursday, full food packages — including fresh produce, dairy products, challah bread, and wine for Shabbat — are distributed to families and seniors in need.
The Light of Roi – Daily Hot Meals
In addition, the family volunteered in “The Light of Roi”, the organization’s soup kitchen, where hot, freshly cooked meals are provided daily to families and elderly people who would otherwise go without a warm meal.
A Message of Hope
The volunteering experience was filled with emotion, joy, and meaningful connections.
It reminded us that kindness knows no borders — and that even from thousands of kilometers away, acts of giving can bring light, dignity, and hope.
