🏀 Team Israel Basketball Launches “A Backpack for Every Child” – An Inspired Educational and Social Initiative
In an inspiring educational and social initiative, Team Israel Basketball, in collaboration with the Yad B’Yad NGO, launched the “Backpack for Every Child” project. The campaign aims to provide brand-new backpacks and school supply kits to students from low socio-economic backgrounds, just in time for the new school year.
In a warm and emotional event, players from the national team — including NBA star Deni Avdija — participated alongside Head Coach Ariel Beit-Halahmy and Team Manager Moti Daniel, packing and distributing backpacks side by side with Yad B’Yad volunteers.
A Vision of Equality and Opportunity
The project’s goal is to ensure that every child in Israel starts the school year with dignity and hope, regardless of their financial situation. Each kit includes a high-quality backpack, pencil case, notebooks, writing tools, and basic supplies — all essential to supporting equal educational opportunity.
Coach Ariel Beit-Halahmy:
“It’s a privilege for us, as a national team, to touch hearts and help build a better future for children. Representing Israel means more than playing basketball — it means standing up for social responsibility.”
Team Manager Moti Daniel:
“Every player on our team understands the power of leading by example. We are proud to be part of a project that gives children the real tools to succeed.”
Special Thanks: Bridging Worlds
Rabbi Yaakov Gloiberman, Chairman of Yad B’Yad and IDF Reserve Major, expressed heartfelt gratitude:
“I sincerely thank the leadership of Team Israel for their noble spirit and meaningful contribution. Thanks to them, many children will begin the year with a smile and renewed hope.”
Longstanding Partnership
This project is part of a strong and ongoing partnership between Yad B’Yad and the Israel Basketball Association, which has launched numerous educational and community initiatives over the years. The collaboration reflects values of commitment, mutual responsibility, and social leadership — both on and off the court.
