Yad B’Yad in Lod distributes weekly food baskets to families, seniors and Holocaust survivors through the “Giving in the Spirit of Omri” project.
At the Yad B’Yad Center in Lod, a meaningful weekly project takes place under the name “Giving in the Spirit of Omri”, in memory of the soldier Omri Ben-Shachar HY”D, who fell during the Swords of Iron War while defending the Land of Israel.
Every Thursday, volunteers gather at the Yad B’Yad center to pack tons of fresh fruits and vegetables, together with challahs for Shabbat, wine and essential food products.
The baskets are then distributed to hundreds of families, seniors and Holocaust survivors in Lod and the surrounding area who are facing financial hardship.
Employees of Mizrahi Tefahot Bank also take part in the packing efforts, joining the volunteers with dedication, warmth and a true spirit of giving.
