Sodexo is helping those in need

Today, an exciting initiative took place as the employees and management of Sodexo joined forces to pack and distribute food baskets for needy families ahead of Rosh Hashanah. The activity was held at the 'Yad B'Yad' charity

Today, an inspiring volunteer initiative took place as employees of Sodexo, led by CEO Mr. Odi Ben Shimol and HR VP Ms. Rinat Lachana, came together to pack and distribute food baskets for needy families ahead of Rosh Hashanah.

The activity was held at the ‘Yad B’Yad’ charity, led by Rabbi Yaakov Globerman in Lod, known for its extensive social work and support for vulnerable populations throughout the year.

Sodexo employees, along with management teams, enthusiastically committed to the task, dedicating their time to fill the food baskets with essential holiday items, including staple goods like oil, flour, sugar, fruits, vegetables, meat, bread, and other vital products for the festive table.

In addition to packing, employees also participated in the direct distribution to needy families, ensuring they could celebrate Rosh Hashanah with dignity and joy, despite the economic challenges they face.

Mr. Odi Ben Shimol emphasized the importance of social involvement in community service as a core value of the company.

“Our ability to contribute to the community in which we operate and assist those in greatest need is an integral part of Sodexo’s vision,” said Ben Shimol.

“The partnership with ‘Yad B’Yad’ provides us the opportunity to positively impact the lives of many people, especially during festive times like Rosh Hashanah, when the desire for family joy and a full table is so significant.”

Ms. Rinat Lachana added, “For us, it’s more than just providing food – it’s an opportunity to be part of a warm and supportive community.

Seeing the joy and appreciation in the eyes of the families strengthens the feeling that what we do is truly valuable.”

Rabbi Yaakov Globerman, founder and director of the ‘Yad B’Yad’ charity, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Sodexo team for their dedication to the organization’s goals, noting the importance of partnerships with leading companies in Israeli society.

“When prominent individuals engage in social work, it strengthens the connection among all segments of Israeli society and conveys an important message of mutual responsibility,” said Rabbi Globerman.

Thanks to this collaboration, many families in the Lod area will be able to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with a full table and abundant food, something that would not have been possible without the help of the volunteers.

Sodexo’s activities within ‘Yad B’Yad’ continue the tradition of social involvement and good deeds, providing a heartfelt example of collaboration between the business sector and charitable activities for those in need.
